JOHN W. DIMON

John Dimon is CEO of Diamond Entertainment Inc., a Toronto-based company he founded in 1994. The company produces quality live entertainment for television, theatres and special events. He also heads AACT, a non-profit arts association with the mandate to develop and further Canadian talent.

John has enjoyed an illustrious career in both television and live theatre. During his many years with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), and later producing hundreds of stage shows, he has worked alongside some of the world’s most talented writers, directors, and producers.

He has participated in numerous U.S./Canada/International television co-productions in association with such notable producers as Jim Henson, David Susskind, Dan Curtis, David Jarrett, Jackie Cooper, Duncan Kenworthy, Lorne Michaels and others. In respect to co-ventures, Dimon has developed, acquired, and contracted independent film and television projects for the CBC Network. He has experience liaising with private broadcasters and government funding agencies such as Telefilm Canada.

During his tenure at CBC he held various executive positions including: Senior Advisor for Independent TV Production, Area Head TV Variety, Manager Administration and Production TV Drama, Executive Producer TV Variety, Producer, Manager Administration and Finance Light Entertainment, and Unit Manager on hundreds of television programs.

Dimon has received prestigious international awards including an International Emmy Award for Best Children’s Television Series for Fraggle Rock, and the San Francisco Film Festival Award for Best Television Program for Strawberry Ice, a two-hour variety special which garnered eight ANIK craft awards and ten ACTRA nominations.

For eleven years Dimon was editor-writer-publisher of Music World a music/entrainment magazine. Dimon resides in Toronto and Denver, Colorado.
